Music: Insomnia

Wah.. lama dah tak update! hari ni citer pasal music la pulak. Aku jarang dengar lagu R n B, tapi ada lagu2 R n B yang aku layan jugak la.. yang latest aku layan, lagu Insomnia dari Craig David. Aku selalu dengar lagu ni kat Class 95 fm (www.class95.sg) . Kat bawah ni ada dua video - satu original version, Craig david yang nyanyi, satu lagi version Korea, oleh Whee Sung (휘성). Aku tak kenal sangat siapa Whee Sung ni.. maklumlah, kurang update sikit tentang music scene Korea ni. Katanya Craig David sendiri yang suruh Whee Sung ni buat cover version dalam bahasa Korea! Cayalah, Craig David! Version Korea ni pun hebat jugak la. Bila nak ada version Bahasa Melayu pulak? Vince, perhaps? Tak pun Hazami ke..?

Wow.. I haven't updated 4 quite a long time! let's talk about music, aight. I don't listen to R n B that much, but there are some tunes which I think are great. At the moment, I've been listening quite a lot to Craig David's Insomnia, especially on Class 95 fm (www.class95.sg) . Here's two music videos of Insomnia - one is the original version and another one is a Korean version by Whee Sung (휘성). Don't really know about him that much, but I read somewhere that Craig David personally asked Whee Sung to do a Korean version of this song. Cool! The Korean version's great too. Have a listen! I wonder if there will be a Bahasa Melayu version of this song..?

Arts: Majalah APO?

hari ni gua nak citer pasal majalah lawak tempatan yang lama jugak la gua follow. kalau tak silap, sejak awal tahun 2000. huish. lama gak tu. rasanya majalah ni pun mula2 kuar sekitar tahun 2000 la. Majalah yang dimaksudkan ialah majalah APO?. Maskot dia dulu sekumpulan lanun. Asal nama APO ni pun dapat dari singkatan "All Pirates Organisation". Dulu ada siri kartun panjang yang dilukis oleh kartunis Petai yang mengisahkan tentang lanun2 ni.. Sekarang ni, dah tambah sorang maskot lagi, sorang apek nama Lim Tat. Mula2 tengok kemunculan dia, rasa mcm tak relevan pun ada. tapi lama2, rasa lawak jugak Lim Tat ni. heh! Okey, sampai di sini sahaja mukaddimah tentang majalah APO? Aku malas nak cerita panjang2 sgt 'in one shot'. nanti la aku citer lagi kenapa aku suka baca majalah ni. (Gambar diambil dari http://petainetwork.blogspot.com)

today, I'm gonna tell ya about one humor mag, a local (Malaysian) mag named "APO?". Been reading this mag since the year 2000. I think it was around that year when the mag made their debut. "APO?" got its name from a group of fictional pirates who happens to be the mag's mascot, named "All Pirates Organization". not sure why they put a question mark to their name, but I guess it's bcoz "APO" is also a Negri Sembilan dialect pronunciation of the standard Malay word "APA" which in English means "what". Today, the mag features an extra mascot in the form of a late-middle-aged Chinese guy named Lim Tat, also affectionately known as Uncle Lim Tat. At first, I thought this guy's presence is irrelevant to the mag, but then his antics changed my mind about him. hoho. hmmm.. Jom tengok lagu Chop Suey yang telah di'rosak'kan oleh Richard Cheese! Aku gelak 'sokmo' sepanjang video ni. ntah mana ntah mamat ni dapat idea. Richard Cheese ni penyanyi lounge dari U.S sana. Kerja mamat ni, nyanyi balik (buat cover version) lagu2 masakini, tp dalam irama swing la (www.richardcheese.com). Hahah! apa2hal, korang check it out je.

Check out this vid, guys! it's a cover (or shall i say, parody) of S.O.A.D's Chop Suey by Richard Cheese. I came across this vid about 3 days ago and heck, i was laughing all the way thru the song! XD. Richard Cheese is a lounge singer from the U.S. What does he do? He sings swingin' Vegas versions of rock, rap, and Top40 hits, "swankifying" contemporary songs into traditional pop vocal standards (www.richardcheese.com).
